The Junior Solar Sprint is organized by Citizen Schools in partnership with Boston Area Solar Energy Association.  Citizen Schools partners with public middle schools to expand the learning day for low-income children across the country. They mobilize a second shift of afternoon educators to provide academic support, leadership development and “apprenticeships” – hands-on projects taught by volunteer Citizen Teachers from business and civic organizations. Volunteers help children connect what they learn in school to the real world, and get excited about opportunities for their futures.
